Your question
I've reported water flowing/pooling in the street, but the problem is still there after several weeks. What will United Utilities do about it and how can I find out what has been happening since I first reported the water?
There are occasions when the water showing is not from United Utilities equipment, such as leaks from a broken drain or from groundwater that occurs naturally from rainwater or underground sources.
If this is the case, we will advise you on who to contact to investigate the problem should you wish to take the matter further. There are also times when a leak has been identified on pipes belonging to United Utilities, but we are unable to carry out the repair as quickly as we would like, for example due to road traffic management issues or if the repair causes us unusual engineering difficulties.
Should you wish to be kept informed of our investigations and resulting actions, we can take your contact details when you report the fault and will endeavour to keep you updated throughout the investigation and if the problem prove to our responsibility, our progress with the repair.
If the problem is outside your property we may also inform you either face-to-face or by an information leaflet.
