Can we simply leave the leak?
No. By law we have a duty to make sure the leak is repaired as soon as possible, and we must ask that you repair the leak within seven days. If the leak is not repaired within seven days, we have a legal duty to carry out the work under our statutory powers and recharge all costs to the property owner.
