Your question
How can I stop sewer blockages?
Large objects, grease and fat, disposable nappies and all non-feacaly contaminated products should not be put into the sewers.
Plastic and insoluble materials that are disposed into the sewerage system cause over two thirds of all blockages.
Baby wipes and moist "trainer" toliet wipes for young children are particulary renowned for causing blockages. Please be aware products marketed as flushable are seldom actually "sewer friendly" and this has been proved by recent water industry research.
To reduce the amount of blockages that occur, these items are best disposed of into your bin.
