We will fit the meter within three months of receiving your application. We will write to you within two weeks of receiving your form and confirm that our contractor will come to fit a meter. Our contractors will then contact you to agree an appointment. However, it may be several weeks before they contact you to arrange the appointment.

In the unlikely event that we take longer, we will credit your account with £4 compensation for every full week after we fail to meet our standard. There are some circumstances when you may not be entitled to this compensation. These include:

• if you haven't filled in your application form correctly and this means we have to delay our contractors to fit the meter
• if we make an appointment with you to fit the meter and you miss that appointment or
• if you fail to carry out the necessary pipework alterations (we will let you know if alterations are required at the time of the survey)
